Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Announces Orchestral Solo Album ‘Mythologies’

On April 7, Daft Punk‘s Thomas Bangalter will release an orchestral solo album titled Mythologies via Erato/Warner Classics.

Mythologies marks Bangalter’s first solo album since the French electronic music duo’s breakup.

Daft Punk was formed in 1993 in Paris by Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The duo split in 2021.

Mythologies “reveals a love of Baroque music and hints to traces of American minimalism,” the French musician said about the 90-minute album.

The album is drawing on not electronic music, but rather “the large-scale traditional force of a symphony and, as such, it embraces the history of orchestral ballet music,” he added.

Bangalter’s last traditional solo album, Outrage, was released 20 years ago.
