A new tribute album, Killed By Deaf – A Punk Tribute to Motörhead, is set for release on October 31 via BMG Recordings, and features 14 punk covers of Motörhead classics by bands including Rancid, Pennywise, The Bronx, FEAR, Lagwagon, and GBH. Notably, the compilation includes a previously unreleased collaboration between Motörhead and The Damned titled “Neat Neat Neat,” which was originally recorded back in 2002. A music video for the track was shared on Wednesday (September 10) to promote the upcoming release. Elsewhere on the album, Pennywise covers the iconic metal anthem “Ace of Spades,” while Rancid tackles “Sex & Death.” A press release for the project – which is available for pre-order on vinyl and CD – quotes the late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister as saying, “The punks loved us. The only reason we weren’t in that lot was because we had long hair, so obviously we must be heavy metal. But a lot of kids heard us without seeing a picture, so they thought we were a punk band.” (Consequence of Sound)
