Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker is setting clearer limits on fan interactions after dealing with increasingly difficult situations while traveling and touring.
In a recent Instagram Stories message, Parker said he will no longer sign autographs or pose for photos outside hotels or at airports. He explained that aggressive autograph collectors have made those encounters uncomfortable, including instances where children were allegedly used to approach him and request signatures.
Parker also said he has been advised to stop meeting fans in parking lots after concerts for now. Crowds in those areas can grow quickly, and without enough security, the situation can become difficult to manage safely.
The musician stressed that the change is not directed at genuine fans. He asked people not to take it personally if he declines an autograph or photo in certain settings.
The new boundaries come as Tame Impala continues touring North America on the Deadbeat Tour, bringing Parker into frequent contact with fans between shows and while traveling.
